TxDOT
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) began opening new toll roads in the Austin area, Tyler, and the northern Metroplex in 2006. These high tech tollways are part of TxDOT’s Plan for reducing traffic congestion, enhancing safety, improving air quality, and expanding economic opportunity.
